FAQ

Do you take insurance? No, we are an out-of-network provider that does not accept insurance. We pride ourselves in treating you as a whole and prioritizing your goals. We do not want to be constrained by insurance limitations that can influence our ability to provide high-quality care. You pay a flat rate with no surprise charges and can submit a claim to your insurance for potential reimbursement, depending on your insurance plan. We recommend calling your insurance carrier to find out what kind of out-of-network coverage you have and we can provide a superbill that you can submit.

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy? No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to start physical therapy due to Direct Access Laws in California. Under these laws though, a referral will be required after 12 visits or 45 days if more physical therapy is needed.

What should I expect during my first visit? Expect a comprehensive evaluation and discussion about your condition, goals, and treatment plan. An evaluation will consist of a multitude of tests that will examine your range of motion, strength, balance, posture, and functional capabilities.

How long does each session last? Both the initial evaluation and follow-up sessions are 60 minutes each.

What should I wear to my appointment? How soon after surgery / injury can I start? Patients are expected to wear loose-fitting or athletic clothing that allows for movement and provides easy access to the area being treated. Depending on the type of surgery, physical therapy should be started when cleared by the surgeon.

Can you help improve my athletic performance? Yes, we can help identify deficits in your strength, power, speed, and agility allowing us to create an individualized program to improve upon those weaknesses and increase your performance.

Can I have a session even if I don't have any injuries? Yes, your evaluation will provide us with information we use to create individualized training or maintenance programs that cater to your fitness or injury-prevention goals.

Is training customized for specific sports? Yes, whether you enjoy playing pickleball on weekends or are playing organized basketball, we cater your training to meet the demands of your sport.
